I went for lunch here with some of my coworkers a few weeks ago after they had been raving about this place for weeks before that. Lets just say, I'm not hard to sell on Mexican food, I'll eat just about whatever is placed in front of me wholly and love it all the same...but NOT this time around. I figured if they take the time to make their own products (they manufacture chips and other products across the street), everything would be fabulous, including the gritty decor so fitting for the 'authentic' experience! Perhaps I came on a bad day, but I suspect not, because the place seemed busy enough. I sat down and waited twenty minutes of my 60 minute lunch break before a server asked me for my drink order and brought us some chips and salsa. And the chips couldn't have been more stale if they had been fermenting outside in the summer heat for two weeks! My teeth struggled to bite through the first few, before I decided to stop attempted to eat them! I ordered what my coworkers suggested to order, the special 'off-the-menu' taco salad I had heard so much about...and was equally disappointed with the taste of the meat and the stale chips harshly mashed together for my lunch. I took most of it home and threw it away in secret out of respect for my coworkers of course - I didn't want to offend them (they're very nice women!) But that's my experience...and I don't plan to go back to have another!
